Take our real estate survey for a chance to win $25!

In real estate, we spend an inordinate amount of time trying to better our service and better our communication — and as competitive as real estate can be, it's vital to our success. Ironically, however, some agents try to accomplish this by sending mass mailers with cheesy portraits that are replete with self-interest. When given the chance to meet with clients, the agent treats them with a "one-size-fits-all" approach. The invisible obvious: why not start by asking clients what they need and expect from their real estate agent?

At Voyage, we're incredibly skilled at what we do, but we won't pretend to know what your expectations are before asking you. We're obsessed with being the best agents, and we've found that the assumptions that are made in our industry about a client's needs are not a good place to start. Instead, we feel the first step to great service starts with listening. We want to ask the people in our community, and in turn, give them the best real estate experience possible.

Below is a link to a survey that we are conducting to better tailor our service to you. As a token of our appreciation, we will randomly select one respondent each month who shares the survey on Facebook to win a $25 gift card to a local restaurant.

Agent Profile | Gina Cooke

Gina Cooke | Voyage Sales Team Agent

When Gina Cooke first discussed joining Voyage, she talked about growing up around her mother's real estate company. Her mother worked diligently to build a great company, and it impressed upon Gina at a young age that real estate requires a lot of time and effort to be successful. This experience serves as her motivation to build her own real estate business, and it's that kind of motivation that elevates the Voyage Sales Team's level of service.

Creating the Greatest Home Buying Experience

Have you ever thought about everything that goes into home buying? Most people don't realize how many individuals are involved in any given real estate transaction. At Voyage, we believe the success of any deal is built upon the strength of our team, so to set yourself up for the best home buying experience, we wanted to share this list of professionals that help with the purchase of your home.

1. Voyage Real Estate Agent ⚓

Call us biased, but the first step towards a smooth home buying experience starts with meeting with one of our agents. Our team takes great care in making sure that our clients are well represented, and get the service they deserve. Sometimes that may mean telling a client that they should hold off on purchasing now, and while it may cost us a sale, our ultimate goal is helping our clients make good financial decisions. After all, the purchase of a home is likely the biggest financial decision one will ever make.

Agent Profile | Shiva McCraw

Shiva came to Voyage through the recommendation of a friend. She was meeting with multiple real estate companies along the Gulf Coast, and I was lucky enough to be one of the brokers she interviewed. Right away, we connected through our mutual desire to see the Gulf Coast be the best community it can be. In fact, she had already been working towards that end as an educator. Now she hopes to serve the community through her service and experience in commercial real estate. We couldn't be more excited about Shiva and what she brings to our company and the community.

Agent Profile | Pegi Hoffman

I first met Pegi because of her incredible Instagram posts (Follow her at @pegitherealtor!). It was readily apparent that she had a passion for the Pensacola community, and it showed through in her pictures of historic homes and beach landscapes. I knew I needed to meet her, and ironically, she called me to set up a meeting before I even got the chance. We met for coffee, and she shared more about her ties to Pensacola, and her experience in architecture. This experience will prove invaluable for those looking for a unique perspective and design insight in their home purchase. Read below to learn about Pegi!

Veronica and I first met through the Pensacola Young Professionals a few years back. The thing I remember most about first meeting her was her positive energy and laid-back personality. Voyage HelpDesk™ Adds Online Support, On Demand

In the age of real estate websites with names like Trillow and Zulia, convenience has reigned supreme in the real estate industry. With a simple search, anyone can find an estimate of a property's value, and search for available listings. This is a dramatic change for an industry that used to rely almost solely on real estate agents as the gate keepers of that information. However, this convenience has come at a price.

Equipped with market information, buyers and sellers are definitely in a better position than in the past, but the market information is without context or qualifications. Liken it to someone who might use WebMD to diagnose themselves - armed with more and better information, are you any more prepared to perform surgery? This is the critical value that real estate professionals offer as we are able to provide critical insight into what the information means and how it can be used to best serve our clients. So what?

Well, at Voyage Real Estate we get that involving an agent isn't always convenient, and therefore, not always enjoyable. Particularly when you are looking for simple advice or information, why invite an agent who might try to twist your arm and talk you into something you don't want to do? We understand, because we hate that part of any other buying experience. Whether it's a house, a car, a mattress, whatever. The experience should be a simple and pleasant one. Gather all the information, weigh the facts, and make the best decision.

That's why we're rolling out this simple, yet radical feature.

Any time you have a real estate related question, go to our website and send us a message. Easy, right? The message will be forwarded to our Facebook page, and our agent on deck will be able to respond right away. These are real people that work in our local office giving you real answers - not a computer algorithm or messenger bot. So please, the next time you have a question about financing, about what your property might be worth, or any other real estate questions, send a message to the Voyage Sales Team.

VoyageHQ Grand Opening | June 2nd 4pm-7pm

OfficePartyInvite

Tomorrow Voyage Real Estate will be hosting the grand opening of our new office in the Belmont-DeVilliers neighborhood. The culmination of 18 months of hard work, our office is a testament of our team's success, and puts us in a position to continue to grow and improve our service to our clients. After operating out of roughly 500 square feet, the new office could not have come at a greater time. Needless to say, we're excited!

More than just a stuffy place to store files, our office will be an environment where agents, clients, and community members can feel comfortable. We want to foster great ideas and support people with worthy causes. Location was a critical consideration - instead of leasing space in a strip mall off of a busy highway, we chose an iconic building in a historic neighborhood. For most in the real estate industry, this is the antithesis of an ideal location for a real estate office, but then again, we're not trying to be like most in the real estate industry.

We are a neighborhood real estate company guided by the principle of Highest & Best - for our agents, our clients, and our community. We will advocate for safer and stronger neighborhoods and equip our agents with the knowledge and tools to not only sell real estate, but to make an impact in the neighborhoods they serve. While our journey is just beginning, we hope you will join us to celebrate our continued success!

Please RSVP here if you're joining us!

Announcing the Voyage HelpDesk™

In the past decade, technology has changed so many aspects of our lives. Imagine a world where you couldn't stream Ferris Bueller's Day Off on demand, or lurk on your childhood friends via social media. It's difficult to think about what life would be like with so many of these modern conveniences. Certainly, technology has simplified some of the most difficult processes for us, and the way that we buy and sell homes is no exception.

While the real estate industry has changed pretty dramatically over the years, it has been notoriously slow to adapt. If you have bought or sold real estate in the past few years, you've probably found yourself frustrated with aspects of the process that felt clunky or convoluted. Whether it's trying to figure out financing, or searching for the perfect house for you and your family, real estate hasn't quite caught up with the rest of technology. Heck, you still might be asked to FAX documents. Does this sound familiar?

Or maybe you haven't purchased real estate yet, but you're getting ready to take that leap. You are the first generation of buyers that don't know what the process was like before the advent of online tools like Zillow. Think about that for a second. Your parents were scanning the classifieds to find their first house. Now, you have endless amounts of information about properties available to you at all times, and it fits inside your pocket. What a time to be alive.

All that information can be daunting though, so how do you sort through it all to find what's most relevant to you? That's where the Voyage Sales Team comes in. We've put a lot of thought into how we can best help our clients, so we created the Voyage HelpDesk™. Leveraging technology to provide convenience in scheduling and connecting with our team, the HelpDesk™ is a place where you can meet with an expert agent to have all of your real estate questions answered. No more hokey seminars or awkward cold calls from agents you've never met before.

For your convenience, schedule your appointment on our website here anytime. We look forward to seeing you.
